16' Grand Banks Dory

in Portland, OR

$1,950

Seller note:

I am selling my custom 16' Grand Banks Dory. It is a hand crafted wooden boat that is coated in layers of fiberglass for increased durability. The boat is registered with the State of Oregon and has all appropriate paperwork, including building certificate issued by the State Marine Board in 2011. I am listing the boat for sale at a winter price of 1,950 (which includes a pair of 7' wood oars). I would like to sell the boat soon, so I can find myself a larger craft by mid spring.
The boat has four removable seats, which improves the custom-ability depending on its given use for the day. It is equipped with an outboard motor bracket (I currently have a 4hp extra long shaft mercury outboard on it) and one set of oar locks (a second set to allow for multiple rowers could easily be installed). The boat moves along smoothly under power, and is an incredible rower! Even loaded with 900 pounds you can row the boat at a good clip without working very hard; the last time I took out the boat, it was carrying over 800 pounds and rowed very cleanly through the current on the Willamette. The boat's size and weight is very manageable, it can be lifted by two individuals (weighing in around 200 pounds).
I have only had the pleasure of taking this boat out on the water approximately a dozen times. I am selling the boat so that I can move up to a 19 foot center console craft.
The boat is being sold with a pair of oars and the outboard motor bracket. If you are interested, I do have an extra long shaft 4hp mercury outboard ($445), as well as a trailer that could also handle a much larger craft ($395). Both of which could be sold with the boat.
On the last outing, we took the boat out to Sauvies Island from Scappose Bay, where three of us spent the day duck hunting. On previous occasions the boat has had 3 men in it; one fishing with a spinner, another fly fishing and the third enjoying a nice drink in the stern. This boat is great for lakes, handles well in coastal bays (do some crabbing), can drift down a mild river for some serious fishing, or be used as a trusted tender. The Dory is a perfect boat to enjoy getting out on the water to take advantage of the NW!

(I am willing to meet a serious potential buyer at a lake, or on the Willamette so it could be test drove before purchase; if needed.)
